AN "old friend" paid a visit to its old stomping ground at an Easter Ross port earlier today.

Earlier this year the old Trent Class RNLI 14-08 Douglas Aikman Smith Invergordon lifeboat was replaced by the Shannon Class RNLI 13-37 Agnes AP Barr.

This morning, RNLI 14-08 Douglas Aikman Smith made a return to the town to take some fuel onboard as she takes up relief duties.

She tied up alongside RNLI 13-37 Agnes AP Barr for refuelling, making a nice picture opportunity.

RNLI Invergordon lifeboat posted: "The old friends were briefly reunited before the Trent departed to continue her passage.

"Safe journey to the crew!"
