A PLAN for a glamping pod for self-catering holiday letting has been lodged for one of the most scenic areas of the west coast.

Thomas Nice and Lynn Aitken have applied to Highland Council for permission to instal the pod in the grounds of Aldercroft, Carrbrae, Inverinate, by Kyle.

Carr Brae commands tremendous views towards the Glenshiel mountains, and Aldercroft looks out over Loch Duich to Letterfern.

Aldercroft is adjacent to croftland and 200m from neighbouring property.

The proposed pod measures 6m X 3.1m X 2.55m high. According to the planning statement with the application, it will not block any views from Aldercroft or neighbouring views.

The statement ends: "We feel we have taken all options, surrounding factors and landscape into consideration for our plans and that a pod in the proposed location is justified."

The application is under consideration and will be determined by Highland Council.
