Kyle of Lochalsh lifeboat and coastguard help police in search for missing Ross-shire man

SEARCHES for a missing man in Wester Ross are continuing, with lifeboats and coastguard teams involved.

The RNLI lifeboat crew at Kyle of Lochalsh was launched yesterday at 4.20pm and today at 8.20am to support Police Scotland in the research of Gordon Buchan (55), who has been reported missing from Kyle of Lochalsh.

Coastguards teams from Applecross, Gairloch, Portree, Loch Ewe are also involved as well as a coastguard helicopter, a spokesman has confirmed.

Mr Buchan was last seen around 3pm on Sunday, March 1 in Kyle.

He is believed to have been driving a light blue Citroen C4 – registration R006 KFU – which has since been traced in Kyleakin.

He is described as 5 ft 10 ins, medium build, with short, dark greying hair.

When last seen, he was wearing blue jeans, a grey t-shirt and green waterproof jacket.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Police on 101, quoting reference number 1739 of Monday, March 2.
