ANOTHER 263 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Scotland – taking the nation's total to 8450.
A further 12 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have also sadly lost their lives.
NHS Highland edged closer to its 200th confirmed recorded case of the virus, after one more person tested positive in the past 24 hours to take the region's tally to 198.
The number of people in hospital with suspected or confirmed Covid-19 fell by seven to 58, with the number in intensive care also down one, to five.
In other parts of the north, NHS Grampian recorded another 26 cases, taking its total to 490. The number of people in hospital suspected of having the virus also rose by four to 84, although four fewer patients were requiring intensive care (down from 13 to nine).
Shetland (51) and Eileanan Siar (six) have recorded no fresh cases of Covid-19 since yesterday's update, although a sixth person in Orkney is now confirmed as having contracted the virus.
Elsewhere in Scotland, there are now more than 2000 cases of Covid-19 in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area, while Lothian (1399), Tayside (1071) and Lanarkshire (1051) have all posted four-figure totals since the outbreak began.
