The normal mode of transport for Santa Claus is a sleigh pulled by a team of reindeers.

But when Father Christmas visits Dornoch, he vacates his sleigh and instead climbs into East Sutherland Rescue Association’s lifeboat, Glen Cassley, to be towed round in style.

And that will be the case on Saturday when Santa’s Dornoch tour takes place from 5pm to 7pm.

The entourage, complete with festive music, will set off from the town square at 5pm and will tour Dornoch and Camore before heading back to the square.

Santa’s elves will have donation buckets and will be collecting in the hope of boosting ESRA’s coffers.
