Santa's reindeer 'Rudolf' has been visiting Applecross ahead of the big day this Christmas

A famous inn on the west coast has spotted 'Rudolf' making a recce of the area.

Staff at the Applecross Inn spotted one of Santa's reindeer on its decking, just as the first snow of the season landed at the weekend.

Sharing pictures taken over the weekend, a spokesman for the Applecross Inn said: "Stunning evening here in Applecross , Rudolf sniffing out his route !

"Totally breathtaking."
