Police stopped a man in a Dingwall Street for a routine check and got a strong smell of cannabis off him.

When officers searched 40-year-old Robert MacAllister of Hill Street in the town, they found £110 worth of cannabis and £115 worth of amphetamine.

MacAllister admitted the October 2, 2021 possession of the two drugs and was fined £680.

His lawyer, Myhrin Hill said: "He has significant issues with substance misuse and is currently serving a custodial sentence."

She asked for no time to pay and Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald imposed the alternative of 28 days in prison.
