Highland Council are closing several routes around Inverness for the half marathon today.

Several roads will be temporarily closed during the Highland capital's half marathon and 5k’ events today (March 12).

Closures will be in place between the hours of 10:30am until 3:30pm.

The order restricts traffic movements on various roads during the Inverness half marathon and Inverness 5k.

People are advised to plan their journeys ahead of setting off.

Highland Council say the closure is required in the interests of public safety and to ensure the safe passage of participants attending the event.

Exemptions are permitted for the emergency services and those displaying an exemption permit issued by the event organiser.

Further information on the event route can be found here.
