Carol Kenmuir (51) from Dingwall has signed up to take part in the Tommy 10k fundraising challenge for the Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI).

Ms Kenmuir will run from October 14 until November 14 with the aim of raising £150.

Ms Kenmuir said: “My motivation is twofold, the first is running for an amazing cause in helping service personnel past and present through the amazing work of the Royal British Legion.

“Secondly, it is a great way of keeping fit, and helping my mental health.”

She began her training for the demanding challenge at the end of September, and took part in the Baxters Loch Ness 10k challenge on October 3.

The RBLI charity provides housing, welfare and employment opportunities for military veterans.

RBLI also has a factory, Britain’s Bravest Manufacturing Company, which employs veterans and people with disabilities. They create signs for infrastructure, pallets, and hand sanitizers, and provided vital help throughout the pandemic.

RBLI help veterans and their families in their time of need and support them to live the most independent life possible. Since 1919 RBLI have provided crucial accommodation, welfare and employment support to injured veterans and people with disabilities.
