Ross wildlife cruise venture scoops top award

A ROSS business which offers visitors wildlife spotting by boat, including the renowned Moray Firth bottlenose dolphins, has scooped a top award.
EcoVentures, which operates out of Cromarty, has been awarded VisitScotland’s Five Star Wildlife Experience award, the organisation’s highest grading.
The boat trips offered by EcoVentures include wildlife watching, skippered charters, film and photography charters and commercial charters.
The Black Isle business is also an accredited operator with the Dolphin Space Programme, a voluntary initiative set up by a number of local organisations to safeguard the welfare of cetaceans in the Moray Firth.
Although bottlenose dolphins tend to be the most frequently encountered and well known species in the Moray Firth, people can also encounter harbour porpoise, pilot whale and basking shark.
EcoVentures owner Sarah Pern said: "We are absolutely delighted to receive a VisitScotland Five Star Wildlife Experience Quality Assurance Award. We were part of the very first pilot project for the Wildlife Experience Award so have been involved from the very beginning.
