PICTURES: Muir of Ord woman notches 200th parkrun and will be back out on Christmas Day as a volunteer

AN inspiring Muir of Ord woman who completed her 200th parkrun at the weekend will be out again on Christmas Day as a volunteer.

Joan Munro completed her first ever parkrun in September 2011 and went on to lead a Muir Jogscotland group, encouraging others into the healthy habit.

Several Joan ( Muir of Ord group friends joined her, three of them walking the entire 5km course with her.

Joan (77) said: “What a memorable morning. I’m grateful for all the friendship, support and encouragement the Parkrun family has given me over the past 10 years.

“ I particularly appreciate all the 21 cheery volunteers there today without whom the parkrun couldn’t take place.”

She now has her eyes on 250 and the “classy t-shirt” that comes with it.

She said: “I have given myself till I’m 80 for that one!”
