AN act of remembrance in Dingwall this weekend will mark a poignant milestone for Ross-shire's county town.

A Remembrance Sunday event will be the first full parade of its kind in the town since the Covid-19 pandemic.

It starts at the town hall at 10.30am and will progress to the war memorial outside the National Hotel.

Appropriate road closures have been put in place ahead of the parade.

The Rev Julia Boothby will lead an act of remembrance.

Lord Lieutenant for Ross and Cromarty, Joanie Whiteford, is also expected to attend along with her cadet.

Parade commander will be Martin Macleod.

One of those involved in the parade's organisation, Andrew Macivor, said: "It brings the community together again to remember the dead."
