ROSS-SHIRE wildlife photographers are being encouraged to dig out their finest images for a shot at a share of a £20,000 prize pot.

The call for entries to the British Wildlife Photography Awards aims to showcase the great wealth and diversity of Britain’s natural history, recognise outstanding talent and praise the profile of the importance of protecting the evironment.

Commended entrants will have their work showcased in a national touring exhibition and lavishly illustrated coffee table book.

The competition is also open to amateur photographers with special encouragement for young people to put themselves in the frame for a prize in a special category.

• Further information on the awards and a full list of all the categories can be found at www.bwpawards.co.uk
