A ROSS-SHIRE secondary school is looking for a new music teacher who it hopes will strike a chord with pupils and fellow staff alike.

Fortrose Academy is sharing a job advert for the full-time post which attracts a salary of between £28,113 and £42,336.

The successful candidate will ideally be expected to have recent experience of delivering the Scottish curriculum and have confidence with music technology.

The advert tells would-be candidates: "You will be an excellent teacher with high-level skills and both an awareness of, and a willingness to be involved in, current learning and teaching initiatives. You will be able to identify with, and show empathy for, all learners."

It adds: "You will be able to develop a rapport with young people and will be committed to motivate and inspire young people to succeed in your subject."

The contact person to find out more about the post as head teacher, Jacquie Ross.
