School closures continue to affect thousands of pupils in Highlands with 'treacherous icy conditions' reported in some parts of Ross-shire

ROSS-SHIRE'S largest secondary will open today but with a slightly delayed start to allow for conditions.

Scores of primary schools across the Highlands are again affected by the weather with many closed due to bad weather and some delaying their opening times.

Dingwall Academy says the school will start at 9.15am.

It says all school transport is running with the exception of Strathconon and there are some changes to the Lochussie pick up points flagged by D&E Coaches on its Facebook page.

Prelim times will be adjusted slightly to accommodate the delays.

Fortrose Academy it will be open today: "Buses continue to be impacted by the conditions and updates will be shared on this page. All buses may be running slightly late. Please only travel to school if it is safe to do so."

Gairloch High School will open. It states: "School wil be open as normal. All busses are out. Expect potential delays in pick-up times. Please check for updates if we receive any notifications from bus drivers."

Tain Royal Academy is open to pupils and staff who can make it in.

It adds: "Only travel if you feel safe to do so."

And it says that today's prelims are postponed to next week.

Invergordon Academy is opening one hour later due to bad weather.

Ullapool High School says there's no transport from Lochinver/Stoer/Drumbeg this morning "due to treacherous icy conditions".

D&E Coahces has supplied its own adverse weather update.

The Loch Ussie bus will pick up in Brahan then operate from Knockfarrell T junction (beside Sandy Munros house) and then we will go back the same way it will not operate via Keithtown.

The Muir of Ord Rent office bus to Dingwall Academy will not go to Seaforth Road it will operate from bus stop beside Bad Girl Bakery only.

The Wester Balblair feeder bus will not operate for Charleston Academy

The bus to Beauly Primary from the Dunmore are will not operate.

The feeder to Beauly Square for Charleston Academy will not operate.

The Hughton to Charleston Academy bus will start at Kiltarlity Village hall at 8am.

The 307 service bus will start at Kiltarlity Village hall at 8am.

The Foxhole bus to Charleston Academy will start at Megston bus stop at 8am.

No bus will serve Moniack Bridge for Charleston Academy.

The Gollanhead bus to Avoch primary will not operate via Gollanhead Avenue but will pick up at the main bus stop at the top of the road.

Any further updates will be posted on our page so please keep an eye however if your service is not currently listed it will be operating but allo for small delays due to road and weather conditions.
