A NURSERY in Ross-shire has not opened today because of a Covid-19 alert.

Highland Council's list of schools closed today includes Applecross Primary Nursery, with Covid-related given as the reason.

It is one of four closed today in the Highlands, though the others are all related to heating, power or water issues.

Highland Council issues an update on closures every morning from 7am on weekdays.

In addition to finding it on the council website, parents and carers can also call for information using the number 0800 564 2272 to get the latest pre-recorded message from the head teacher of a school.

A PIN number provided by schools is needed to access this information.
