A Dingwall man has been warned he could go to jail after he admitted kicking off in the Inverness Justice Centre when he encountered a man and a woman talking to a solicitor.

Charles MacLennan on Mart Road, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court and pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour in the building on June 6, 2022.

The 39-year-old had to be twice pulled away from the interview room by a female prisoner security officer as he shouted and swore at the people inside.

Fiscal depute David Morton said: "He banged on the window and shouted at the woman: 'I am going to have you.' CCTV filmed the incident and he was arrested."

Sheriff David Harvie was told that MacLennan had other matters calling on June 15 and sentence was deferred until then.

The Sheriff told him: "This behaviour was deplorable. People involved in the court process should feel safe. Custody remains an option in this case."
