The 38-year-old will be sentenced later this month.

James Miller, whose bail address was given to Inverness Sheriff Court as Back Road, Durness appeared before Sheriff David Harvie and admitted the offence.

His campaign ran for two years between April 1, 2020 to April 21, 2022, carried out in properties in Cromartie Drive and Caberfeidh Place, both Strathpeffer, and elsewhere.

Miller pleaded guilty to sending the woman threats of violence and offensive remarks via social media, slamming a door so hard it came off its runners, shouting in an aggressive manner, and repeatedly accusing her of having sexual relations with other men.

The charge went on to include throwing the contents of a bottle over her, repeatedly sending her messages demanding to know what she was doing and who with, threatening self harm if she ended the relationship and repeatedly sending her unwanted emails and social media messages.

Before hearing the full facts from fiscal depute Emma MacEwan, Sheriff Harvie called for a background report and deferred sentence until November 17.

Miller's bail was continued.
