A FISHERMAN was fined £640 after causing a disturbance at a pre-lockdown party in Inverness.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard yesterday (Tuesday) that Oliver Humphreys (33), of Kanachrine, Ullapool, had been with several people at a property in Culloden on March 2.

The court was told that everyone was inebriated and there was an argument between Humphreys and a woman.

Fiscal depute David Morton told Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald: "He struggled with her and she sustained a bruise to her leg. After she reported him to police, he was arrested and taken to Burnett Road Police Station where he backward kicked a police officer."

Humphreys admitted breach of the peace and police assault.
