A 28-year-old Dingwall man appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court charged with an assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement in Conon Bridge on October 3.
Archie Ritchie also faced an accusation of vandalism.
He made no plea, was committed for further examination and was released on bail.
