Invergordon RNLI on lookout for deputy launch authority to join lifesaving Easter Ross team

AN Easter Ross RNLI lifeboat crew is on the lookout for a key member to join its lifesaving team as a volunteer.
Invergordon RNLI is advertising for a deputy launch authority.
The role assists the lifeboat operations manager in authorising the launch of the RNLI Invergordon lifeboat.
Established in 1974, the Invergordon Lifeboat Station operates a Shannon class all-weather lifeboat.
There has been a lifeboat station in the Moray Firth area since 1878.

The advert states: "You will help us save lives at sea by carrying out the day-to-day management of the lifeboat station to ensure a permanent state of readiness for service."
Duties include:
• Authorise launch of the lifeboat
• Provide leadership in the absence of the lifeboat operations manager or as delegated
• Ensure that all operational activities are carried out to maintain the lifeboats and all associated equipment in a constant state of readiness for launching on service.
• You will receive training in launch authority operations as part of the RNLI competence-based training framework.
Qualities required include:
- Team player
- Good communicator
- Leadership skills
- Maritime knowledge
- IT literate (desirable)
- Knowledge of the RNLI (desirable)

Training to fulfil the volunteer role will be provided.
