THE coffers of two popular causes will grow thanks to a stunning Ross-shire garden.

Nigel Stanton, of 7 Braes of Conon, Conon Bridge, is joining Scotland’s Garden Scheme for open days on July 9 and 10.

The garden will be open from 2pm-5pm on both days. Mr Stanton has dedicated the weekend event to the British Red Cross Ukraine Appeal on Saturday and the Highland Hospice on Sunday.

This specialist flower garden cared for by a professional retired nurseryman opens the eyes to magnificent delphiniums and sweet peas. Started seven years ago, there are many raised beds and a slip-proof walk-around where all sides of the borders can be seen.

Attractions over the weekend include Highland Liliums, teas and baking, arts and craft stalls, baking stalls and raffles. One of the top raffle prizes to be won is a personal gardening advisory session by Mr Stanton.

Organisers said: "Do come and join us for what promises to be an enjoyable weekend in a beautiful summer garden."
