A COMMUNITY-run development company aimed at supporting residents and boosting the economy is on the lookout for a new director.

The Garve & District Development Company is hoping to have a new director join the team, and would-be applicants only have until May 22 to apply.

"If you have skills and time to offer our board we'd love to hear from you!" said chairwoman Sue Tarr. "There is a lot of work planned for the year ahead. The work continues despite Covid-19's best efforts!

"We have been working hard on supporting the community through this very difficult time and quite rightly this has been our focus.

"But directors and staff have also been working in the background on some of the six priority themes identified in the Community Development Plan.

  • Community Ownership
  • Community Energy
  • Utilities
  • Community Care
  • Community Groups and Events
  • Business and Tourism

"You don't need to be an expert, but obviously any relevant experience in these areas which you could bring would be useful. More important is having the time and enthusiasm to help us make a difference to your community."

Anyone interested should apply at https://garve.org/sign-in?ref=/member/director-application-form by Friday, May 22. Applicants will be asked to sign into the site as a member first.
