Dingwall barber banned from driving after police smell cannabis from vehicle

A Ross-shire barber has been banned from driving after police noticed the smell of cannabis coming from his vehicle.
Craig Markey (38) was stopped on Caulfield Road by police on mobile patrol on February 20, 2021, Inverness Sheriff Court heard.
Officers had noticed Markey in his car and ran a check on it.
When they went to speak to him however they noticed a strong smell of cannabis.
He was drug tested and found to have 3.9 micrograms of the drug in his system.
The legal limit is two micrograms.
Sheriff David Harvie imposed a fine of £300 and six points on his driving licence.
As Markey, of Tulloch Square, Dingwall, already had six points he was disqualified from driving for six months under the totting up procedure.
