APPRENTICES from Ross-shire are among the latest batch of six taken on by Tulloch Homes.

Joinery manager Hugh MacGillivray said that brought to 57 the number of apprentices taken on in the past 11 years with a high retention factor and a pipeline of excellent tradespeople “a win-win for all concerned”.

New faces include Ewan Bremner (18) from Conon Bridge on plumbing and heating and Scott Cameron (16) of Muir of Ord in joinery.

Inverness College business solutions adviser for the construction sector Pauline Tuthill said: “It’s superb to see Tulloch taking on and training these youngsters after such a challenging time for the industry.

“Tulloch put great store in their apprenticeship programme and have earned a deserved reputation for looking after them. We look forward to assisting the career development of this latest contingent.”

Gordon Macallister, plumbing and heating manager, called it “a milestone” since lockdown ended, adding: “Their training on site and at the college produces quality craftsmen.”

The college said it was a welcome trend in commitment to apprenticeships.
