AN Easter Ross primary school closed today following a Covid-19 track and trace alert WILL open tomorrow, it has been confirmed.

South Lodge Primary flagged today's closure on Sunday after staff were alerted by the system.

They were required to take a PCR test and the school was closed today as a consequence.

David Hayes-MacLeod, its head teacher, this afternoon confirmed pupils can return to the classrooms tomorrow.

He posted: "Great news! All PCR tests have returned negative results so I’m delighted to say that the school will be open tomorrow. Again, many apologies for the inconvenience that this will have caused you all today but trust you all understand the reason why we had to close.

"We all look forward to seeing everyone back tomorrow. Many thanks again!"

The nursery wasn't affected.
