A BLACK Isle medical practice struggling with an "unforeseen level of staff absence" is "only able to deal with urgent issues at the moment".

Fortrose Medical Practice gave the update in a social media posting this morning.

It said: "Due to an unforeseen level of staff absence, we are only able to deal with urgent issues at the moment.

"We are doing our best; please be patient and kind as we are trying to help those who need us."

It flags further help and information and self-help guides on https://www.nhsinform.scot/ or by phoning 111.

For many conditions you can also use your local pharmacy under the pharmacy first service https://www.nhsinform.scot/.../nhs-pharmacy-first-scotland

It added: "In any life-threatening emergency ALWAYS call 999."
