A Ross-shire man was found with more than 25 grams of cocaine in a kitchen after police carried out a search warrant.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard Graham Gate was found in possession of the class A drug on October 28, 2020, at an address in Firhill, Alness.

The 31-year-old admitted being concerned in the supply of the drug.

Fiscal depute Martina Eastwood said 25.72 grams of cocaine was found by police in the kitchen of the property as well as scales with traces of the drug on it.

She said the stash was worth between £1000 and £1200 pounds but potentially double that if sold in gram deals on the street.

Sheriff Ian Cruickshank allowed the Crown motion to seize the drugs and sentence was deferred for background reports and a restriction of liberty assessment.

Gate, of Alcaig, Conon Bridge, was released on bail.

He will return for sentencing on April 6.
