TWO people have made another private appearance at Inverness Sheriff Court with a second charge added to the allegation of murdering a 61-year-old Kyle of Lochalsh man.

Michael Joyce and Antonia Gunn have now been charged with disposing of evidence and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

The pair were arrested last week after extensive enquiries by Police Scotland's Major Investigation Team into the circumstances surrounding the death of Michael Whyte who died at a property in Plock Road, on April 23.

Joyce, aged 31, and 26 year old Gunn, both from Kyle of Lochalsh appeared before Sheriff Gary Aitken and were fully committed.

Gunn was represented by Neil Wilson and Joyce by John MacColl, both Inverness solicitors.

The pair previously made no plea to murdering him by repeatedly striking Mr Whyte on the head and body and both were again remanded in custody.
