A ROSS-shire lifeboat crew is appealing for donations to keep its lifesaving voluntary service afloat.

Kessock lifeboat RNLI made the appeal in the wake of what would have been its annual open day.

Like many charities dependent on public donations, the crew has seen many of its major fundraising events cancelled because of coronavirus.

Many have seen regular fundraising activities halted since March.

The Kessock lifeboat crew said: "Yet we are still operational and ready to respond when duty calls. As it has many times since lockdown. Last week saw some of the RNLI’s busiest days ever, and at Kessock we are preparing ourselves for a busy summer period with the reopening of the Caledonian Canal and the easing of lockdown. Please do donate if you can, and keep watching for ways you can fundraise to help us continue our work this summer."
