A WINDFALL of more than £1500 has been raised for Maggie’s Highlands after Ross County hosted its ever-popular ladies day.

The club held its latest event last month when it welcomed Dunfermline Athletic to Dingwall for a SPFL Championship fixture.

The positive result on the park was matched by the buzz in the stadium’s Victoria Suite where the social event was held and raised £1515 for the cancer charity, which offers essential support and advice to people living with the disease.

The day was hosted by Kenny and Michael from popular Scottish band, Torridon – and attended by more than 100 guests.

Maggie’s Highlands fundraising manager, Andrew Benjamin, said: “I’d like to thank all the guests at ladies day for their generosity.

“Their cheque will make a huge difference to our centre which is open to anyone in the Highlands who is living with cancer.”

He added that one generous guest even donated their prize – a lunch for two with the Ross County first team – back to Maggie’s Highlands so it can be raffled.

Ross County’s commercial manager, Lorraine Christie, added: “Ladies day was a fantastic event and I’d like to join Andrew in thanking our guests for their generosity.”
