ROSS County have set their sights on serving fans an appetising Valentine's Day thriller - on the pitch.

While restaurants and hotels are busy advertising their special Valentine's Day menus, Victoria Park staffers are turning their thoughts to the romance of the Scottish Cup!

Having held St Mirren to a draw with a fantastic performance in Paisley on Saturday, the Staggies now bring the Buddies up the A9 for the William Hill Scottish Cup 5 round replay on Tuesday February 14.

At stake for the winner is a quarterfinal against either Hearts or St Johnstone. The tie will be decided on the night - whether in normal time, extra-time or after penalties.

The scene has been set for another exciting night of cup football in Dingwall.

Whilst the club acknowledges not everyone will be thrilled about football on Valentine’s Day, head of administration Ranald Gilbert thinks plenty of fans will be happy to change their plans.

He said, “It was a terrific performance at St Mirren Park against SPL opposition, and despite having a fantastic crowd there of almost 500 Staggies fans I’m sure a lot of those who couldn’t make it down to the game – as well as those who did – will be looking forward to another fantastic cup match under the lights at Victoria Park.

"When you look back on some of the superb games we’ve enjoyed and the SPL scalps that we’ve claimed over the past few years I think you can understand why there’s such a buzz of anticipation ahead of this game, even if a lot of people don’t think that pie and Bovril is the ideal Valentine’s dinner - including my own fiancée!”

Tickets for the match go on sale this Thursday at £16 for adults, £8 for concessions and £4 for Under 16s for seats in the stands.

Sales on Thursday will be in person or online only, with phone sales on 01349 860860 available from 9am on Friday.

Season ticket and debenture seat holders are guaranteed their own seats provided they purchase them by noon on the day of the game, although tickets will be available to purchase right up until kick-off on the night.

Fans looking to purchase their tickets online can do so at www.rosscountyfootballclub.co.uk 24 hours a day.
