THE arrival of special visitors bearing gifts delighted young patients in a Highland children's ward today.

It wasn't Santa and his helpers coming early but rather a group of Ross County FC stars who scored with staff and patients at the Highland Children’s Unit on Monday.

Because of the Covid situation, the meeting with children able to do so took place outside the unit.

Ross County later posted: "Club captain Keith Watson, Joseph Hungbo, Jack Baldwin and Ross Callachan this afternoon visited Raigmore Hospital and Archie Foundation’s Children’s Ward with some presents for the young patients.

"We continue giving our full gratitude to the NHS and Archie Foundation for their superb work, helping young people who have to visit Raigmore Hospital in Inverness."

The gesture was well received by many.

"Brilliant lads. Well done," posted Alistair Clark.
