ROSS County's title-winning side will be paraded down Dingwall's High Street as part of a celebration to mark a historic achievement.

The club today revealed plans for an open top bus parade on Saturday which is set to become a focus for celebrations of the club's historic promotion to the top flight SPL.

With County's final home game of the season against Hamilton this week approaching sell-out status, the club says celebrations this Saturday will extend well beyond Victoria Park.

The atmosphere inside the stadium for the match against Hamilton Academical is sure to be electric from the time that the gates open at 1.45pm, right through until the presentation of the Irn Bru SFL First Division Trophy on the pitch after the match.

League Sponsor’s Irn Bru has confirmed that its open top Irn Bru bus will be making the journey north to join in the celebrations, and in addition to being outside Victoria Park ahead of the game itself it will also be taking the team on a parade down the High Street to celebrate not only the fact that the team have won the title but also that they have brought the SPL to Dingwall.

The bus, lead by the Sutherland Schools Pipe Band, will travel down the High Street at approximately 6pm heading the full length from the junction with Burn Place where the pedestrian zone starts right back to the Railway Bridge which leads back to Victoria Park.

It promises a fitting end to what promises to be a remarkable day not only for the players and fans of Ross County but also for the whole town of Dingwall.

Before the match there will be parade of past players led by a pipe band around the pitch at Victoria Park as well as face painting for young and old alike at the Jailend.

After the trophy presentation is completed, the band Torridon, who released the single “We’re On Our Way” to mark the club’s achievement in reaching the 2010 Scottish Cup Final, will perform a brief live set at the stadium prior to the parade on the High Street commencing.

We'll have a report and pictures in next week's Ross-shire Journal.
