Two councillors have tabled a motion to full council calling on the administration to work with the management of the Ironworks.

Lib Dems Molly Nolan (Cromarty Firth) and Morven-May MacCallum (Black Isle) want the local authority to ensure that the “cultural asset” is not lost to the Highlands.

The council’s south planning applications committee recently granted approval for a large scale hotel that will occupy the site which is currently home to the popular city centre events venue.
