ACTIVISTS in a Ross-shire community are urging residents to look out for one another amidst the uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Volunteers at Rosemarkie Beach Cafe, a major hub at the heart of the Black Isle village, have been working out a list of people who can help out with shopping and deliveries, for example to people who are self-isolating in response to symptoms.

The cafe posted on its Facebook page: "We are lucky to live in a community where neighbours look out for one another but the sad thing is that many of those who regularly help out are in the vulnerable category themselves and may need to stay at home.

"Our volunteers have been working out a list of those who can help with shopping and deliveries etc. to people self isolating. Central contact numbers will be circulated.

"While the supermarket system is overloaded, don't forget the local village shop, the Spar in Rosemarkie takes orders and we can provide the 'legs' for deliveries."

It notes that some products may need to be ordered in advance to fit with delivery days.

As things stand, the beach clean planned for Saturday, March 21 at 9.30am will go ahead.

The group has, however, taken the decision to postpone the planned Easter Fun Day .

The posting added: "We may have to limit the cafe hours. Please check our Facebook page for further information."

It added: "We live in a beautiful part of the world with open spaces for walking, spring flowers are jewels we can all enjoyto lift our spirits in uncertain times."
