A BLACK Isle village is adopting a do it yourself approach to Christmas decorations this year with locals invited to get involved.

The Rosemarkie Beach Cafe is inviting locals to decorate large wooden baubles which will then be used to decorate the village.

It posted: "From this weekend, big wooden baubles will be available to pick up at the beach cafe. Take one home, add some sparkle and shine, return it to us and we'll decorate the village. Let's bring some extra Christmas cheer to Rosemarkie this year!"

The idea has already captured the imagination of many.

Janice Shearer wrote: "What a fab idea!" Alison Currie stated: "Brilliant idea!"

Anne Fairnington said: "What a lovely idea, wish I lived nearer."
