A Highland Council spokesperson said: "The A832 has been closed approximately eight miles south of the Braemore junction due to fallen trees. Roads operatives are en route to asses the situation.

Meanwhile, the local authority also updated on a road closure between Plockton and Achmore.

A spokesperson said: "The road is also currently closed between Plockton and Achmore at Duncraig due to multiple fallen trees.

"Operatives are unable to clear due to high winds affecting other trees around them. Diversions are in place via Kyle of Lochalsh and Achmore."
