AN Easter Ross man stopped by police has been reported to the fiscal after being found to be five times the legal drink-drive limit, in possession of a knife and without insurance.

Police said the 34-year-old from Alness provided a breath alcohol reading that measured five times the legal limit.

22 microgrammes (mcg) of alcohol in 100 ml of breath. The driver registered a reading of 110, according to police.

The vehicle was seized and the driver reported, police said.

The fatal five as described by road traffic police in their campaigns are:

  • dangerous/careless driving
  • speeding
  • seatbelt offences
  • mobile phone offences
  • drink and drug driving
