Dingwall and Highland Marts Ltd sold 6994 store lambs and feeding sheep.

Lambs (6,842) averaged £71.44 (up £11.47 on the year) and sold to £120 gross for a pen of Cheviots from Sheildaig, Strathcarron.

Feeding sheep (152) sold to £100 gross for a Cheviot ram from Scorr Farm, Glendale.

The verdict on Friday's event: “A rip-roaring trade for all classes was experienced at Dingwall. A full company of buyers from as far south as Cumbria participated in a strong trade that saw short keep lambs considerably dearer keeping inline with the current prime sheep trends. Long keep hill lambs met a fierce enquiry and this commodity were the dearest they’ve been all season. Blackface lambs would have been privy to the largest increase in values as many pens crossed over the £70 mark with ease.”
