A BLACK Isle secondary bade a fond farewell to several long-standing members of staff who ended their time at the school at the end of term last week.

Fortrose Academy paid tribute to strings instructor Isobel Grant, Iolanda Calder of the ASN (additional support needs department), PE teacher Eileen Foster, Deirdre Mackenzie of the guidance team and home economics teacher Anna Walker. Also leaving, but not in the picture, was Rhona Fenn of the maths department.

The school said its best wishes went with all as they "begin the next exciting phase of their lives beyond teaching".

It said in a statement: "Your commitment to providing quality support and experiences for the young people of Fortrose in your considerable time in the school is much valued and respected and we will miss you all!"
