Resignation of Ross-shire councillor in Tain ward triggers by-election timetable

The timetable for the election of a councillor for the Tain and Easter Ross ward has been confirmed.

The notice of election and nomination forms will be available from the council's website on Thursday, August 10.

The by-election is being held following the resignation of Sarah Rawlings (Scottish Liberal Democrats) who is one of three councillors representing Ward 7.

The other ward members are councillors Derek Louden (Scottish National Party) and Alasdair Rhind (Highland Independent).

If the seat is contested, voting will take place on Thursday, September 28 with the count taking place within the ward on the following day.
