FAMILES in two Easter Ross communities are being challenged to get out and be active together this Easter – right on their doorsteps.

High Life Highlands Active schools team in Alness and Invergordon is running The Doorstep Discovery challenge which invites families from both communities to get outside, be active and have fun over Easter.

Running throughout April, families will be able to take part in the challenge via Google Classroom where they will have the choice of 10 Challenge Cards to complete as they explore their local neighbourhood/area.

It includes prizes for the first 22 families to complete the challenge.

Themed challenge cards will have families exploring their village/town, discovering new ways of enjoying the outdoors through games and hunts, as well as learning more about nature and physical activity.

Karla Urquhart Active Schools co-ordinator said: “This challenge means families can have positive community experiences, being outdoors, more socially engaged and enjoying being more physically active once again in a safe manner.”

Once Challenge Cards have been completed, families will log their findings and evidence on the Google Classroom – submitting their results to their local Active Schools Team.

They will report distances walked, steps achieved as well as photos of their adventure.
