Water supplies in an Easter Ross community are returning to normal after repairs were completed on Tuesday morning.

Scottish Water confirmed at 7.20am that repairs to a burst pipe in the Newmore area, near Invergordon, had been completed.

The work was carried out after customers in the area began reporting interruptions to their supplies on Monday evening.

Engineers were on site by around 7pm, with Scottish Water apologising for the loss of supply.

In their final update at 7.20am on Tuesday, a Scottish Water spokesperson said: "Water supplies in Newmore which were affected by a burst water pipe are now returning to normal. We thank you for your patience and understanding during the incident.

"We have carried out a full repair of the fault and are now returning to normal service."
