Local, family-run businesses support the economy of the Highlands, and they have the bonus of being able to have a relational approach with the customers that are right on their doorstep.

This is exactly what Dicksons of Inverness do, as it has continued to serve the people of the region with all their motor needs for over 30 years. Stocking brands such as Kia, Suzuki, Nissan and MG, as well as a range of used cars, the team can make sure they find a car that works for your budget and lifestyle.

If you need a new set of wheels, are looking for a great deal, or just want some information on what is best suited for you, the dedicated team at Dicksons of Inverness can help you!

Sales director Jim Mackenzie has been working at the car dealership for the last 25 years, and for him being able to be available to customers day or night, is something he takes great pride in.

Speaking about Dicksons of Inverness, he said: “We look after our customers, and because our staff who come to work for us stay here, we build up relationships with clients, so they return, and we know them on a first name basis.

“My favourite part of the job is the people, that’s both staff and customers. We have an absolutely fantastic team who have a good laugh and both work hard and play hard.”

A benefit of having a local business that takes pride in putting customers first, is that it can ensure an open-door policy, and make decisions quickly rather than having to go through lots of bureaucracy.

“Because we don’t answer to anyone, our offices are based in the showroom so if customers have a question we speak to them directly”, said Mr Mackenzie, “we can make decisions quickly and help people there and then.

“If someone wants to come in and talk to a director they just need to knock on the door. It gives our customers the reassurance that they can just come to us with any questions or queries they may have.

“We also have all our dealerships in one area, so we can take customers to each one without them having to travel across town to see our different ranges.”

Ensuring customers receive quality cars is extremely important to the team at Dicksons of Inverness. That’s why the team spends the time and money to get cars fully prepped and ready before each client gets their new ride.

Mr Mackenzie, said: “With the distances covered across the Highlands, we want people to get cars that are right and ready to go when they get it.

“We don’t want people driving a few miles and finding out something is wrong, so we spend lots of time and care working on their cars beforehand.”

Without the customers of the Highlands, Dicksons of Inverness would not be where it is today, so they make sure that they show their clientele gratitude.

“Every time a customer buys a car, we say thanks”, commented Mr Mackenzie.

“They keep our families fed and us in a job – we can’t operate without them. I think our customers know that, and every time they walk through the door, they know they will always get service with a smile!”
