WRITING inspiration is set to give people an outlet for their lockdown creativity on the Black Isle.

Black Isle Writers have teamed up with the editor of Chatterbox to launch a special writing challenge aimed at giving people a challenge to aim for while also recording people's responses for future generations.

Black Isle residents are being encourage to write a piece inspired by rainbows, representing "the hope that we see around us" despite the hardships faced during the lockdown and pandemic.

A spokesman said: " Looking for something different to do during lockdown? Want to take part in an exciting community project? Love writing? Want a new challenge?

"In conjunction with the Black Isle Writers and Russell Turner, editor of Chatterbox, I would like to invite people of the Black Isle to write a piece inspired by rainbows, representing the hope that we see around us despite the despair, suffering and restrictions we are currently experiencing.

"This will be a voluntary project by the community, for the community both for this and future generations."

Anyone wishing to take part should sent their "poetry, prose or musings" to clairehemsworth@outlook.com by June 30, 2020.

"Together, we hope to produce an anthology with the working title of The Rainbow Isle," added the spokesman.
