Ullapool’s nearby settlement of Ardmair has received a planning proposal for a new “metal-clad” contemporary house.

The planning application was submitted to Highland Council on March 28, by London-based architect Simon Fraser, of Fraser Brown McKenna Architects.

According to the application, the house proposal has been designed to “fit into the local hilly context”.

The application also states that the building will be “clad in black profile metal to reduce impact and visibility, and do no harm to the context”.

The house is also described to be a “sustainable house” with a “high level of insulation”, as well as photovoltaic panels on the south facing roofs.
