IT may be the height of summer but that’s cold comfort for Ross-shire businesses desperate to contain soaring energy costs.
They’re being targeted by a free seminar in Dingwall next week aimed at helping them reduce costs by saving energy.
Organised by Friends of the Earth Inverness and Ross and taking place in the High Street premises of The Greenhouse next Tuesday (July 26), the get-together marks the latest stage in the group’s Keep the Heat In campaign.
Peter Elbourne (pictured), the group’s lead energy advisor, has already been in touch with scores of local businesses to sound them out. He believes simply switches to energy efficient lighting could make an immediate impact for many with others potentially benefiting from solar panels.
The campaign is funded through the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund.
