POWER outages have been reported across the Black Isle and in parts of Wester Ross.

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) has confirmed a number of unplanned outages affecting IV10 postcode areas and also IV22 areas in Wester Ross.

Some households affected by electricity outages have already had power restored while it's understood engineers are aiming to have other faults fixed by 2.30am.

Some of those affected have been assured that engineers are on the way to find and fix faults in the network.

SSEN can be contacted free of charge on 105.

It also has a Power Tracker app which highlights issues and offers likely timescales for action.

The Met Office earlier issued a Yellow warning for strong winds across the Highlands.
