Police name woman who died in Easter Ross road accident near Alness and renew appeal for witnesses

POLICE have identified the woman killed in a road accident in Easter Ross yesterday.

The accident happened on the C1016 near Alness on Sunday at around 12.40am,

The woman who died has been named as Karen McKeddie (56) from Alness.

Her family are aware, police said, and a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Mrs McKeddie died at the scene after her Toyota RAV4 car crashed on the C1016, between Alness and Achandunie, north of Millcraig Road.

Sergeant Kate Park from the Road Policing Unit said: "We are still appealing to anyone who was on this road between 10.30pm on Saturday evening and 12.40am on Sunday morning and who witnessed this crash happen or who may have dash-cam footage from the area to come forward. Information can be passed to officers via 101 quoting reference number 0161 of November 29,”
